| Setting up a new email account on Outlook Express |
Step 1
Start with "Outlook Express" open on your desktop.
• Click on the "Tools" menu on the top menu bar
You should see a drop down menu similar to this.
• Click "Accounts"

Step 2
You should now see a window similar to this.
• Click "Add"
Which provides you this menu:

• Click "Mail..."
|

Step 3
This will start the "Internet Connection Wizard" and open a window labeled "Your Name".
• Enter your name as you would like it to appear on your emails
• Click "Next"

Step 4
A window labeled "Internet E-mail Address" should now appear.
• Enter your email address here
• Click "Next"
|

Step 5
Now you should see a window labeled "E-mail Server Names".
• Select the "POP3" option
In "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:"...
• Enter "mail2.chromemedia.net"
In "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server;"...
• Enter "smtp10.bellnet.ca" if your internet provider is Sympatico
• Enter "smtp.broadband.rogers.
com" if your internet provider is Rogers
• Click "Next"

Step 6
The next window should be labeled "Internet Mail Logon".
• Enter your account name - this is your full email address
• Enter your password
• Click "Next"

Step 7
Now you should see a "Congradulations" window.
• Click "Finish"
Continue if your internet provider is Rogers, otherwise you're done!

Step 8
If your internet provider is Rogers.
• Click on the "Tools" menu on the top menu bar You should see a drop down menu similar to this.
• Click "Accounts"

Step 9
This should bring you back to "Internet Accounts".
• Click on the"Mail" tab
• Click "Properties"
|

Step 10
The "mail account properties" window should appear next.
• Click on the "Servers" tab
In "Server Information"...
Incoming mail is: "mail2.chromemedia.net"
Outgoing mail is: "smtp.broadband.rogers.com"
In "Incoming Mail Server"...
Enter your account name - this is your full email address
Enter your password
In "Outgoing Mail Server"...
Check off the "My server requires authentication" option
Click "Settings"

Step 11
The "Outgoing Mail Server" settings window appears.
Logon Information
• Select the "Log on using" option
• Enter your Account name and Password (Provided by Rogers)
• Select "Log on using Secure Password Authentication"
• Click "OK"

Step 12
Back in the "mail account properties" window.
• Click "Apply"
• Click "OK"
You're DONE!
